    How it started

In 2013, Sydney-based social entrepreneurs Laurence Marshbaum, Nina Skryzynski, and Jenny Newmarch envisioned making philanthropy accessible for professionals eager to give back but unsure how. They also saw that grassroots not-for-profits (NFPs) often lacked critical funding and volunteers. Their solution: host an event inviting 10 friends each, who then invite 10 more, to hear from three NFPs. That first event raised $11,000 and 10x10 was born.

The model quickly expanded across Australia, with communities embracing this innovative approach to giving. By mid-2021, 10x10 had hosted 100 events, sparking a movement of collective giving and community-led change.

10x10 provides NFPs with essential funding and a platform to share their stories, boosting their reach and connections with donors and volunteers. Building on this momentum, we now offer high-potential NFPs access to our venture philanthropy funding ecosystem, including multi-year commitments to help them grow, scale, and deepen their impact.
